Many people believe that In Vitro fertilization (better known as IVF), affects the size of the newborn. The birth weight of the children born from fresh embryo, have smaller birth weight as compared to those born from frozen embryo transfer.
The ruling region of two growth genes, insulin like growth factor 2 along with H 19 was analyzed. A hereditary difference has been related to various epigenetic marks, determined by which forms the person has derived from parents. One of the most common generative marks was surveyed. The groups are known to be sticking to DNA strand thereby affecting the gene function.
The doctors divide the leaf in genotypes according to the alternatives which the baby has received and the effect of IVF on the epigenetic marks depended on the genetic constitution. Also, the weight of baby at birth, placental weight and head circumference of new born, which were acquired from fresh embryo transfer, were quite small in one genotype, which were acquired from frozen embryo transfer, were much heavier in size. Another thing that has been come to know is the changes brought about are not dangerous but safe.
Studies done initially, by transvaginal ultra sound (TVUs, being the more popular name) measurement of endometrial thickness, hoped in replacing invading techniques, like endometrial surgery for estimation of endometrial receptivity. Patients having as low as 4mm 60 thickness have been reported to conceive, while a pre ovulatory endometirum of 7 mm is known to be a cutoff, with suboptimal implantation of 57 -59.
Recent work has been brought out on TVUS measurement of subendometrical contractility, also called “endometrial waves”, which are known to be hormonally responsive in specimen and propagation direction 62 – 64. During ovulation, the body process waves are controlled from lower part to collar, but later in follicular and ejection phase, the waves are brought about from cervix to fundus, to assist semen to transport to uterine tube. Post ovulation, another episode which affects the uterus, would support embryo implantation. Generally, in assisted reproductive techniques, supraphysiological estradiol levels are indicated by an increase in wave activity. An increase in progesterone submission has been related to result in lower wave activity and a tremendous improvement in pregnancy rates.
Around 86 couples who conceived through IVF and 157 couples with spontaneous pregnancies were enrolled for the study. IVF were then divided into two groups, depending on the fact if the embryos were transferred in womb, fresh after conception, or after they were frozen and defrosted before transferring it.
